- CUEVA DE FUENTEMOLINOS
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA CUEVA (Desarrollo: 4.086 m / Desnivel: + 77 m)
Fuentemolinos es una surgencia activa, sus aguas abastecen
al pueblo de Puras de Villafranca. Un río subterráneo recorre el 1º piso durante 1.800 m. La singularidad de esta cavidad es que se
desarrolla en conglomerado calizo, siendo una de las mayores del mundo por su
desarrollo. La cueva tiene tres niveles,
cada uno diferente y de gran
belleza. Tras superar un pasamanos
y un pozo de 15 m, llegamos al 3º piso, donde veremos paneles de
excéntricas y un
singular gours, donde la
fluctuación del nivel de agua ha dado origen a una curiosa secuencia de
espeleotemas epifreáticos de tipo acera
formados por decenas de láminas de calcita en uno de los bordes.

4.086 m / Depth: + 77 m)
Fuentemolinos
is an active emergence. Its water supplies the Puras de Villafranca village. A
subterranean river flows 1.800 m on the 1st floor. The singularity
of this cave is that it is developed in a calcareous conglomeration, being one
of the biggest in the world in this kind of caves. The cave has 3 levels, each
of them different and of a great beauty. After passing a handrail and a pit of 15 m, we arrive to the 3rd
floor where we can see a panel of excéntricas and the lake of Fuentemolinos. In
this lake the fluctaution of the water has created hundres of calcite sheets in
one of the lakes side.

En el 1er
piso, un cañón excavado en conglomerado calizo, con grandes bloques redondeados
que cuelgan des sus paredes.
También nos acompañan coladas y
macarrones. En el 2º piso, coladas,
estalagmitas, estalactitas, etc. En el 3º piso, podremos observar los mismos
espeleotemas citados anteriormente además de excéntricas, , cristales de
calcita, y el famoso lago donde nos sorprenderán las espectaculares láminas de
calcita.
WHAT CAN WE PHOTOGRAPH?
A canyon dug in a calcareous conglomeration with big
rounded blocks hanging from the walls is observed on the first floor.
We can also see flowstones and soda straws. On the 2nd
floor, we have flowstones, stalagmites, stalactites, rimstone dams. Finally, on
the 3rd floor, we will see the same speleothems of the 2nd
floor plus, helictites, calcite
crystals, and the famous lake, where we will be surprised by the spectacular calcitelaminae.

- CUEVA DE PAÑO
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA CUEVA (Desarrollo: 1.438 m / Desnivel: - 47 m)
La base de
pozo de entrada divide esta cavidad en
dos sectores. La galería de dirección SE, tiene un desarrollo de 180 m y
alberga una sala de 50 x 70 x 5 m que
termina en un conducto de unos 30 m que en su día pudo tener acceso al
exterior. Por otro la
galería dirección NW , a la que se accede superando un laminador, es la más
bella de la cavidad, repleta de espeleotemas y tiene una sección homogénea
durante su recorrido 12 m anchura y 15 m
de altura.
DESCRIPTION OF THE CAVE (Development: 1.438 m / Depth: - 47
m)
The entrance shaft base
divides this cavity in two sectors. The gallery with the SE direction has a
development of 180 meters and it has a hall of 50 x 7 0x 5 meters that finishes
in a channel of about 30 meters. Some time ago, this channel could have had
access to the outside of the cave. The gallery with the NW direction to which
we can enter passing through a low rise gallery, is the most beautiful of this
cavity full of speleothemes. It has a homogeneous section of 12 meters wide and
15 meters tall during its development.

La cueva de
paño es una cavidad llena de espeleotemas
de colores blancos, amarillos y ocres . Podemos ver coraloides,
coladas, estalactitas, cientos de
estalagmitas, macarrones , raíces, etc. Es de destacar los impresionantes y
blancos depósitos de Moonmilk formados sobre vegetales. Todo ello
dentro de amplias galerías muy decoradas. También encontraremos una
familia de salamandras de vistosos colores
en la base del pozo de entrada.
WHAT CAN WE PHOTOGRAPH ?
Paño cave is
full of speleothemes in white, yellow and ochreous colour. We can see coralloids, flowstones, stalactites, hundreds
of stalagmites, soda straw. All of this
inside of big full adorned galleries. We can also find a kind of salamander
with showy colours in the base of the entrance shaft.

- COVANEGRA
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA CUEVA (Desarrollo: 2.100 m / Desnivel: - 81 m)
Covanegra básicamente consiste en una galería
con dirección OSO - ENE, a la cual
se accede a través del colapso de su bóveda, que ha originado un pozo de 31m, por donde se adentran los rallos de
la luz del sol. Tras superar la bonita
sala de entrada (Sala Niphargus) decorada por el verde musgo que tapiza las
paredes y los espeleotemas , la galería continúa tras descender un pozo de 8 m que conecta con una rampa de 25 m
. Después superaremos tramos de conductos más angostos y tras descender un
salto de 4 m , llegamos a una amplia galería donde localizamos magníficas coladas, hasta que una de ellas colmata la galería.
CAVE DESCRIPTION
(Development: 2.100 m / Depth: - 81 m)
Covanegra cave is constituted by a OOS-EEN gallery. We
can enter from the collapse of its
vault. This collapse produced a pit of 31 m, and through this, the sun rays enter into the cave. After
leaving of the beautiful entrance room , called “Niphargus Hall”and adorned with moss, the gallery continues and
we pass by a pit of 8 m onnecting with a ramp of 25 m. After that, we overcome
narrow sections and a 4 m leap. Then we arrive to a big gallery where we have
wonderful flowstones One of this flowstones close the gallery.

El pozo de
entrada es una amplia bóveda tapizaba de verde por el musgo y por donde entra
los rayos del sol.
Coladas de
gran tamaño que colmatan la galería principal. Amplias galerías. Diversos
espeleotemas como, coraloides, cristales de calcita, banderas etc.

where the sun rays enter into the cave. We also have big flowstones that close

- COVENTOSA
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA CUEVA . Desarrollo : 32. 529 m / Desnivel: - 815 m)
Cueto - Coventosa es una gran sistema subterráneo, en
este encuentro fotográfico entraremos por la
amplia entrada de Coventosa. Una amplia galería con fuerte corriente de
aire nos lleva un pozo de 15 m que conecta con una nueva galería. Continuaremos hacia la rampa que nos lleva a la “Galería de los
Fantasmas”, de gran belleza y repleta de espeleotemas.
Volviendo a
la base del pozo de 15 m y para ir hacia
“ El Gran Cañón”, tendremos que superar algún
pequeño tramo de cuerda ascendente y descendente y algún pasamanos, hasta llegar a los
primeros gours y después a los lagos.
CAVE DESCRIPTION (Cueto – Coventosa
/ Development: 32.529 m / Depth: - 815 m)
Cueto -
Coventosa is a large underground system, in this photographic
meeting enter the wide entrance Coventosa. A large gallery with strong current
of air brings us a pit of 15 m connecting to a new gallery. Continue to the
ramp that leads to the "Gallery of Ghosts" very beautiful and full of
speleothems. Returning to the base of the P15 m to go to "The Grand Canyon",
we have to overcome some small stretch of ascending and descending rope, and
some railings, reaching the first gours and then the lakes.
QUÉ PODEMOS FOTOGRAFIAR ?
Esta
cavidad dispone de dos zonas diferenciadas: la zona en dirección “ El Gran
Cañón” y la “Galería de los Fantasmas”.
En la
primera encontraremos bellos gous y lagos, playas de arena, amplias
galerías y diversos espeleotemas.
La “ Galería
de los Fantasmas” esta repleta de coladas, columnas, estalactitas y grandes estalagmitas.

This cave has two areas: the area heading "Grand

- CUEVA MUR
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA CUEVA (Desarrollo: 1.725 m / Desnivel: - 60 m)
Un gran
boca en la pared de una montaña es la
entra de Cueva Mur. Un pequeño pasamanos con cuerda y una rampa ascendente nos lleva a un laminador que
termina en un salto de 5 m y que nos
deja en una repisa y en lo más alto de la “Gran Sima” (sala de 70 m x 90 m x 50 m). Seguiremos avanzando por la
repisa a través de un pasamanos de
cuerda que bordea la “Gran Sima”,
hasta llegar al lugar donde
comenzamos el descenso a la sala. Una gran rampa muy pronunciada de unos 50 m nos dejará en la base de la
sala. Para continuar subiremos una colada muy resbaladiza que nos lleva a la
“Sala del Campamento”. A partir de este punto la cueva tiene un desarrollo
horizontal, algún paso estrecho, laminadores y multitud de espeleotemas.
La cavidad
tiene un recorrido circular.
CAVE DESCRIPTION (Development: 1.725 m / Depth: - 60 m)
A big hole in the wall of a mountain is the entrance of Cueva Mur. A small handrail withe a rope and a rising ramp take us to a low rise gallery that finishes in a 5 m leap. This leap leaves us in a overhang in the highest part of the Gran Sima (Great Abyss), a hall of 70 m x 90 m x 50 m. We will keep on moving by the overhang through a handrail. This handrail goes along the Gran Sima, to the place where we will start the way down to the hall. A steep ramp of about 50 m will leave us in the base of the hall. Then, we will go up a very slippery flowstone that leads us to the Sala del Campamento (Camp Hall). From this point, the cave has a horizontal development, some narrow passes, low rise galleries and a lot of speleothems. The cave has a circular route.

- CUEVA EL SOPLAO
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA CUEVA (Desarrollo: 30.000 m, cueva + mina )
El
Soplao, fue descubierta a principios del siglo XX,
debido a la exploración de unas minas
(La Florida). No sólo tiene interés geológico sino también un excepcional patrimonio
de arqueología minera.
La cavidad guarda en su interior un
auténtico paraíso natural, conformado por impresionantes formaciones, con
grandes superficies tapizadas de aragonitos, estalactitas, estalagmitas y,
especialmente helictitas y excéntricas que provocan admiración.
La abundancia y compleja diversidad de
formaciones excéntricas, es lo que realmente hace de la cueva El Soplao una
cavidad única, ya que, este tipo de espeleotema también se encuentra en otras
cavidades, pero nunca con la abundancia, belleza y espectacularidad de las
albergadas en el Soplao.
The Soplao cave was discovered at the beginning of
twentieth century. The cave is really interesting because its geological
interest and mining archeologic heritage are exceptional. It show an incredible
natural paradise composed by amazing formations, such as: larger flowstones in
the walls, stalactites, stalagmites, and specially helictites and eccentric
speleothems.
The cave is unique around the world because show an
incredible rich and complex diversity of eccentric formations. These type of
speleothems have been found in others caves, but never like in the Soplao cave.

El Soplao
es una cueva espectacular para hacer fotos de miles de flores de aragonito,
coladas, banderas, helictitas, excéntricas, estalagmitas, estalactitas etc. Los
espeleotemas son blancos y contrastan con el color rojizo de sus galerías.
We can photograph aranogite flowers, sails, helictites
and eccentric stalactites, stalagmites, among others. The speleothems are white
and they contrast with reddish hostrock.
